Vacancy Details

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group (Marshall ADG) remains one of the UK’s leading independent aerospace and defence companies and is renowned and respected worldwide for its expertise in civil, military and commercial aircraft, and defence solutions. With a proven pedigree in providing support to UK and international customer C-130 Hercules fleets that dates back to the 1960s, Marshall ADG continues to build upon its success through the delivery of partnered support to the RAF C-130 fleet under the Hercules Integrated Operational Support (HIOS) contract with the UK MoD. As part of this solution, the HIOS Technical Support Group (TSG) is an experienced, multi-disciplined team providing technical support and engineering solutions to its customers; both external and internal.

The role of the TSG includes the provision of a Continuing Airworthiness Management Support Service (CAMSS) for the RAF C130J Fleet. The function of the CAMSS is to ensure the UK MoD DE&S Hercules Project Team (PT) responsibilities for Continuing Airworthiness Management, as detailed in the RAF C-130J Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME), are discharged in a consistent, repeatable and auditable manner. This service is essential in enabling the RAF C-130J Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) to attain, and maintain, it’s MRP Part M, Sub-part G approval.

The role of a CAMSS Engineer to fulfil the role of CAMSS Team Lead at our Cambridge facility is now available. This is very much a ‘front of house’ post that demands regular, direct contact with the Customer, its supporting agencies and sub-contractors.

Duties will include:
•Responsible to the Chief Engineer HIOS for delivery and development of the RAF C-130J CAMSS.
•Line-management and supervision of all RAF C-130J CAMSS team members; Cambridge and RAF Brize Norton based.
•Monitoring C-130J continuing airworthiness data (especially LITS data) for quality and accuracy, taking remedial action where necessary.
•Assuring that modifications and repairs are initiated, tasked and tracked according to the required timescales.
•Managing the distribution, tracking, satisfaction, follow-up and closure of PT-issued Engineering Instructions (EIs).
•Monitoring the Narrative Fault Report (MoD F760) process, ensuring that the progress of investigations is tracked and hastened as required.
•Ensuring that the C-130J PT has investigated and closed all C-130J Defence Air-Safety Occurrence Reports and has summarised the findings.
•Maintaining CAMSS procedures and ensuring that the provision of the service is compliant with Quality Assurance requirements.

We are looking for suitability experienced and self-motivated candidates to join our team. The successful candidate will be an enabler and facilitator who is able to demonstrate:
•Knowledge and qualification in a vocational or specialised Engineering field; preferably an Aerospace-related degree; minimum of BTEC HNC/HND (NVQ-4).
•Ten years of relevant work experience within the aerospace industry, OR
•An additional 5 five years of experience to those above. These five years should cover an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management (engineering) and/or surveillance of such tasks.
•Proven experience in continuing airworthiness of MoD aircraft.
•Experience in aircraft maintenance at a supervisory level.
•Experience of working in (or close to) the UK MoD DE&S aircraft Project Team environment.
•An in-depth practical working knowledge of UK MoD aviation regulation, processes and procedures, MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP) and associated MAA Regulatory Articles, including Defence Standards and Air Publications/Joint Service Publications.

The successful candidate will be required to hold or be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC). Duties will involve occasional UK travel at short notice; passport and driving licence are required.
