A vacancy exists for a hard working individual within a procurement team of committed people supporting a busy and fast moving aerospace environment located in Cambridge.

Key aspects of the role:

•	Responsible for the sourcing and procurement of all parts and services to support the business.
•	Purchasing the correct part with the correct paperwork within the necessary time constraints to support Operations.  This includes sending components for repair or overhaul and arranging sub-contract services.
•	Understanding of supply chain and the knock-on effects of actions and buy decisions within all areas of the company.
•	Report on all aspects of supply, negotiating on pricing and lead times, investigate alternative options on problem parts.  Analysis of purchasing data for intelligent stock ordering.  Managing suppliers to improve performance, pricing and lead times.
•	Provide training, support and guidance to Material Controllers (MC) and Trainee Material Controllers (TMC).  Able to step into areas/projects within logistics that are underperforming, identify problems, suggest solutions for recovery and putting them in place.  Responsible for setting and maintaining standards associated with the position and taking a lead role when dealing with other departments, customers and suppliers.  Approaches the job with flexibility and versatility.
