Within our land systems capability, we have designed, manufactured, delivered and supported more than 5000 tactical shelters in over 200 different configurations.

Reporting to the Support Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant will provide field service customer support conducting fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of in-service equipment, as well as, if required, assistance to Production Operations, undertaking electrical inspections testing, manufacture and assembly of specialist projects.

Key Responsibilities:

•	Undertake scheduled and ad hoc electrical maintenance and inspections, fault investigations and diagnostics of products together with equipment faults at various locations worldwide.
•	Carry out electrical inspection and testing, manufacture, assembly and build of Land Systems specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to BS7671 standards.
•	Implement repairs and modifications to electrical, electromechanical and mechanical systems. 
•	Generate and submit accurate inspection reports, in agreed formats and timescales. 
•	Provide support and guidance of equipment to end-users.
•	Work primarily as an electrical function, but with the ability to carry out mechanical inspections and rectifications for MLS supported systems. 
•	Understand and adhere to all appropriate MLS processes and procedures.
•	Work in accordance with MADG Health and Safety management systems and policies, and undertake risk assessments pertaining to MLS systems at customer sites.
•	Understand customer requirements, context and constraints.  Project a positive image of MLS and promote its capabilities.
•	Have the ability to work either individually or as part of a team, effectively supporting all functions of the organisation.
•	Be included in product development activities and support production meetings when required.
•	Travel extensively within the UK to perform the customer support function.  Also be prepared to travel, sometimes at short notice to Europe, occasionally worldwide and potentially to operational areas.
•	Work with business functions supporting Customer Support Managers, Production Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring all projects and taskings are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard.
•	Take an active role in continuous improvement to identify shortfalls and promoting best practice company wide.
•	Other related duties as agreed with line management.

The role of Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias) presents an opportunity to engage directly with equipment users to provide through life support of MLS systems and also to occasionally assist in the production of the equipment.  It is expected that the successful applicant will provide flexible support for both business functions ensuring high standards of work, first class service, on-time delivery and adherence to customer requirements.

Competencies required to fulfil the role:

•	Electrical biased Engineer with multifunctional competencies having the ability to be flexible to support both aspects of the business needs.
•	Ability to carry out mechanical inspections, repairs and modifications on shelter systems. 
•	Competence in electrical systems associated with military shelter systems highly desirable.
•	Able to generate and complete relevant documentation including EICR certifications and mechanical survey reports.
•	Able to comprehend engineering drawings and associated design data. 
•	Ability to work alone at user locations or as part of a team within the production environment with the ability to interact effectively within both groups. 
•	Excellent written and communication skills.
•	Excellent time management and administrative skills. 
•	Ability to understand and follow processes and procedures 
•	Good understanding of engineering principles sufficient to be able to interface effectively with Design Engineers. 
•	Desirably able to set up and operate field generators.
•	Knowledge of field UPS and ACU systems desirable.
•	Proven commitment to delivering excellence.
•	Commitment to playing a part in developing a ‘learning organisation’ culture. 
•	Willingness to deploy to operational areas if necessary (CONDO) desirable.

Qualifications and experience:

•	Must hold a recognised electrical qualification and City & Guilds 2391or 2394 and 2395 or international equivalent or MoD equivalent.
•	Must hold a City & Guilds 2382 BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition.
•	Knowledge of three-phase electrical installations
•	Knowledge of fibre optic systems.
•	Knowledge of intruder alarm systems.
•	Experience in undertaking electrical work on military shelter systems highly desirable.
•	HNC (or equivalent experience) in an appropriate Engineering discipline desirable.
•	Five years minimum relevant experience plus a willingness to be trained.
•	Computer literate with MS office tools.
•	Driving license and UK Passport required.
•	Must be able to obtain SC clearance.
•	Ability to deploy overseas for short periods and at short notice.
